Job is stressing me out but pays good and has fair benifits. If I quit I would move to another state. Better enviorment for my newborn son. It would be a fresh start for all three in the family. It would put a strain on my extended family relationships.

I don't know why your asking us, but my advice would be to listen to your heart. You only live once. Think of what you would really like to achieve in life. What are you best at? You can make bundles at anything if your good at it, and you're best at doing the things you love.

You should do what is best for you and your family. Then longer you wait the harder it will be to change later. Don't think of it as starting over, think of it more as putting your experience to better use with a new company. You will be expanding your knowledge by moving to this new company and your usefullness will be increased as well. You never know, it may be the best decision of your life. You can always speak with your employer and ask for an extended leave of absence. You can try the new job and if you feel that it will not work out you can always look to getting your old job back as you would then leave on good terms with them. Good luck and congratulation on the new son!

Stress is a killer -- physically and emotionally. A job is a small but critical part of our lives. Personally, I have moved on quite a few times in search of greener pastures. In every case, the move had proven to be an important part of my life experiences. Some times the money was better and sometimes not. Regardless, I was able to survive and provide adequately for my family. The longer the period of employment, the more comfortable you become, and the more difficult it becomes to make a change. Let me assure you of one thing. There are million of employers out there seeking good people to help them in their businesses. There is a large amount of opportunity waiting for you. As a wise uncle once told me after I had moved 2000 miles--"pick your spot". If you can break the comfort level, there is a great new adventure waiting for you---just pick your spot!

It's not too late to start fresh! You can't be fully happy under a lot of stress, I know. I am 42 and starting all over in March of this year. I have thought a lot about it. My job is so stressful and I finally realized that I don't want to bring my stress to my family when I get home and I am tired of waking up at 6 am already fussing and dreading going in to work.
I am relocating and it will put some distance from me and my children and my grandson. But, at least when I see them, I will be in a much better mood. Who wants to see someone who is all stressed out, irritable, and just wants to go to bed???? NO ONE>..

Good pay and benefits are hard to come by nowadays. If you're looking for a change, I would suggest starting a home-based business part time while still working at your present job. Start cutting back on things like entertainment, shopping, groceries, etc. and save enough money to support you and your family for at least six months. Then, quit your job and work full-time at your own business. Hope this helps. Good luck.

If it's a financially reasonable thing to do, and your immediate family is supportive, do it. It gets harder to do later.
