I get so frustrated at people who abuse animals. And I wish I had the power to help these people! To help them understand and see how unfair it is! I know animals don't have the same intelligence as humans because God wanted it that way. But I still think that he cares about them and he has to hate see them being abused the way many are. After all...he created them. If I create something and someone destroys it, I am going to get mad and it will hurt me. God is the same way. I know he allows humans to suffer...but do you think he allows these innocent animals to feel any pain? I mean after all...we're here as punishment but what about animals? What insights do you all have on what the Bible says about animals?

I don't want a chat room, I want to learn what the Bible says about Animals...I know a little but I'd like to see what someone else knows. So no I don't want a discussion.

lil1weasel....I know that...I know that...but I like to believe that during our "test" God doesn't allow innocent things to hurt, does that make sense?
Jeanna...thank you..I think I will post it over there.

in regards to green's answer evolutions stupid. theres too many missing peices for it to be plausible. and if we evolved why hasn't anything evolved since then? and i think people that abuse animals will be judged accordingly by God on judgment day. i think were all here as a test to see whos worthy of being in Gods eternal presence.

Not having memorized the Bible cover to cover, I can only guess that if the Bible has anything to say on the matter, it would be found in the Old Testament, which is derived from the Jewish Holy Books (I think the Torah is Genesis - Leviticus).
According to the Jews, animals have spirits, and should be afforded certain rights of kindness. Part of the concept of kosher food is to respect the spirits of animals. For example you should kill an animal humanely, with a really sharp knife and a special nerve-severing blow so that it dies virtually instantaneously. Additionally you should not mix meat and cheese, because you could be combining the milk of the mother with the meat of the calf.

We should have harsh laws for people who abuse and/or neglect animals. In a recent case in Albuquerque, NM, the judge ruled the defendant is not allowed to own another dog. I think it was Ghandi who said something about the mark of a civilization is how they treat their animals. And we all know by now, that people who abuse animals-kids, too-have issues that should be corrected.

I thought the bible says animals don't have souls and are there for humans to use?
I'm not a bible thumper, but maybe the guff is empty and people are being born w/out souls. Sometimes I seriously wonder. =(

God or no God, animal abuse is sick, twisted, and wrong. This question, though, worded as it is would be better in the religious category.
