The first two answers are correct. Here's another trick, I can't remember if those bikes have a manual fuel valve or vacuum operated. If manual turn it off and start the engine and run it till it runs out of gas, then turn the valve back on and restart the bike. Sometimes the gas gushing into an empty carb can dislodge whatever debris may be fouling up the needle and seat action. If your fuel valve is vacuum operated you may have to pinch the fuel line closed with some sort of clamp to block the fuel.
Its worth a try because the back carb on those bikes is a real pain in the @ss to remove.

float and needle valve trouble usually. If you're lucky, just tapping on the side of the carb with a rubber hammer or the handle of a screwdriver may free it up. Sometimes a little carb cleaning fluid thru the fuel line to the valve and float chamber will work. Worst case, remove and rebuild carb. A more remote possiblity is too much fuel pressure forceing the valve open. I don't remember if your model has a fuel pump or gravity feed. If gravity feed, disregard the idea of excess pressure.

Don't run it like that. You might be pouring raw gas into a cylinder. It's usually a piece of junk keeping the float needle from shutting off the gas or the float sticking. You have to get the bowl off the carb, or better yet, remove the carb and check it out.
