my compressors are draining my battery and wasnt sure if i could put a capacitor and that will do the job or if i need to put another battery in there. it is an old car and i did all the work my self but dont know what to do with this?

A capacitor won't help you at all. If the battery is draining while the engine is running you need a better generator or switch to an alternator.

Does your Hudson already have a modified electrical system. The original is a 6 volt positive ground. What are your compressors rated to run on. We used to own a 47 hudson and mounted a 12 volt battery in the trunk to run a new car radio. Just charged the 12 volt battery seperately as needed. You can also convert your 6 volt system to 12 volt. It also helps crank the engine. Kits are available, advertised in the HET (Hudson-Essex-Terraplane) club magazine. you should up grade the wiring 12 volt i know you want to keep it original but they have these little blocker thing that drops stuff like lights back to 6 volt so you dont have to change mutch have any questions email me
