Those razr's are pieces of crap. My husband is on his 3rd in 6 months. The fist one got dropped and it quit working altogether. It wasn't a big drop either, it fell 2 feet tops. The second one got wet (not drenched mind you, just a bit wet) in the rain and it quit working, and now his third one managed to get dust behind the screen. You can see it, but you can't clean it. It's weird to look at it. I would recommend you don't get a razr. Get something else because they are a complete waste of money. They look cool, but if you want to actually have a phone when you need one get a different one. They make plenty of neat phone that last longer than 3 months.
Oh yeah, before the phones broke, 1 had a blown speaker too. It was hard to understand people because it made a crackling noise in your ear. His new one with the dust is also starting to do this. It is only 3 months old. We have to wait until November to upgrade it though.

Note: I just read the answer below me. I can vouch that Cingular doesn't provide good razrs. That is who we have. Their service otherwise has been fine, but that stupid razr is a piece of junk.

Actually, the RAZR is a very sturdy phone. They are very durable. I mean don't try dropping it from the top of your house onto rocks, but its not going to crack the screen from dropping it.

PS- I had a Nokia 3560 and when i got a new phone, i put it in a vice and made it flat. Pretty fun! Just make sure you take the battery out first if you want to try that!

It depends on where you bought your cell phone. All companies have limits as to how long you have to return/exchange your phone. If you purchased your phone at a retailer that is only a vendor/partner with Cingular, you stand a better chance of exchanging it than if you purchased it from Cingular itself. If you are not able to exchange it and your insurance doesn't cover it, you are looking at several hundred dollars to replace it. Or you can purchase a Cingular To Go phone and put your SIM card into it, call Cingular and do an IMEI swap on it and be back in business until you are eligible for your upgrade.

LCD screens are fragile but should not break unless you drop it from a high place or a large amount of pressure is applied to it. The warranty will cover replacement of the LCD as long as there is not obvious damgae to the phone showing you've run over it with your car or something like that.

Depends on what wireless carrier you purchase it from. Alltels screen brakes easily, Cingulars get's pocket lent in the screen, Verizon's has no known defects.

***It is 89.9% of the carriers responsibility to make sure the phones work properly. Few carriers take this seriously. Cingular definantly doens't, T_Mobile Sometimes, Verizon ALWAYS. Verizon is the industry leader when it comes to phone quality.

All cell phones are on the fragile side, not only the Razr.

No, it doesn´t.

I gave my mototrola razr to my 7 year old, she drops it all the time it hasn´t broken yet. So it´s child proof too.

I gave to her because signal is not so good in that phone.
