NO, it's not that difficult, but some people have trouble with it for some reason. I guess it is because they are lazy and it is easier for them to say aks.

Some people that use the launguage of "Ebonics" (Generally African American people), generally mis-pronounce this word as "axe" or "axed". "axe" is a noun and is something generally used to cut a tree town or kill a chicked with. It ha a very sharp edge.
If you want to speak and sound like an educated person, use the word "ASK". THis is the appropriate way of saying the word as in "I would like to 'ask' you a question." or " you've already 'asked' me that question.

I pronounce is "ask", but that's because I was taught proper English and grammar in school and at home. Kids learn to pronounce based on their environment.

ASK!! Not axed! (Nope--not hard to pronounce!) My theory is that little kids say it wrong naturally and the grownups think it's so cute that it reinforces them to keep saying it wrong.

Axed is totally off... aks is totally off as well.. sounds the sames as axed

I know some people pronounce it A-s-s. Like "I assed him" .It's really not hard to pronounce. Ask.
