I would say that there is nothing wrong with it as long as you know the person will not get offended. If you are not sure, I would substitute "holidays" for "Christmas", it is always safe that way. I am a wiccan and a lot of people that know it still wish me a Merry Christmas or ask me "How was your Christmas?" even though I celebrate Yule (which is quite different from Christmas). It all depends on the person, and if someone does get offended then it is wrong on their part. The individual should understand that is just a general nicety of the season, and that just because you may not participate in the Christmas season, not everyone will know this fact. Happy holidays yo you!

If someone is not Christian or does not celebrate christmas then it may offend them, but i doubt it. Maybe if something bad had happened, but i dont think its offensive at all.

If they had a bad or unfortunate christmas, it may be a bit rude to remind them of it.

People who get offended by these types of things are either too arrogant, stupid, or rude to be concerned about anyway, so don't worry about it.
