Nobody can diagnose this problem for me and its very frustrating. Sometimes I can hear and feel this thump under the car when I am accelerating gently. For example today I was driving about 50mph in 5th gear going up a little hill, I would give it light throttle and I heard it again very loud this time thumpthumpthump, After I sped up to about 60mph it stopped... Anyone?

Engine or trans. mounts loose, or broken.

It may be a front suspension problem. If there is something loose, the slight bit of added power could be shifting something back and forth giving a thumping sound.

No the engine's are way diverse. the civic would have a a million.5 unmarried cam duelport injection 16v or a a million.6 unmarried cam multiport if that's an si. The accord has like a 2.0 or 2.2 12v engine. they are to diverse.

You don't mention whether motor mounts have been examined or replaced, but that could be at least part of the problem.

One of your axles is going bad. I would say one of the outer joints is going to lock up if you don't have it repaired. Have you recently had your CV boots replaced or checked? If the grease is gone or was gone before you replaced them, the axles are the most likely cause of your thumping.

sounds like your rear motor mount is broken. it is air actuated so the mount may look good but the air solenoid may have gone bad. i've had the same problem.
