What the HELL is going on? Send troops for war against terrorist, then charged with murder? Not one screwed up politician can give an intelligent answer to such stupidity! PISSED, AND I SAY GET THE HELL OUT!

Find link on yahoo home page. Notice how some don't even support those they send to die, typical cowards atleast send some one else to do something you wouldn't. TALK ABOUT CUT AND RUN! Enjoy your freedom for Christmas celebration, it didn't cost you a thing.

our culture and creed has evolved to the point where "innocents" in a war zone are not to be targeted..makes for a very tough way to win a war...do you think we tried to avoid killing civilians in the 1st or 2nd world war..??? innocent civilians getting killed makes the rest of the civilian population put pressure on the powers that be to end the violence quickly...just like the muslims have done to america..we need to understand war is not fought without collateral damage..

That's the benefit of being a politician. You can choose to go to war and you can lead your country to war, but in the end, you never actually go yourself. At worst you might be known as a bad president (still getting all the perks of presidency), at best you end up being a victor.
Notice that the Bush daughters, despite being the typical age for soldiers, aren't fighting either?
Anyway, despite how convulted the reasons for going to war, it IS supposed to be a war against "terrorism" (how stupid can you get?), not a war against the civilians of a country you're trying to stabilize.

Depends doesn't it, were the legitimate targets or innocent civilians? If it was the latter then he will be pulled on it. Don't know anything about the actual case, but if he's being punished for being a soldier then I agree with you. You should hear some of the horror stories about our boys (UK). Most are operating with inadequate supplies and firearms, and that's just the start of it.

Though the military may try to weed out the undesirables, and I believe they do a damn good job, a few bad eggs will slip through. The great majority of the troops are wonderful people who would never intentionally harm another person without just cause, but some of the sickest mothertruckers have gotten into the forces and made a horrible name for the rest. Abu Ghraib and Gitmo are the 21st century's My Lai..

War is a crime in itself and charging our Marines with war crimes is not fair. You don't send a man to kill, and fight and not expect when he sees his budies killed or mamed to just let it slide, no it touches ones emotion. I saw a lot of getting back in Nam. It happens, give them some counciling but dont wreck their already shattered from combat lives even further. Pardon them all

Unfortunately this Marine got caught in an acting as a vigilanty, most likely he killed Civilians who were not targeted as terrorists or a threats. In addition, there probably was a stool pigeon on board that day. I was there, you know when not to kill, and when to kill.

Could be a legitimate psycho. Remember. It's the military. Not a religious order. All kinds get into the military. Lee Harvey Oswald. Timothy McVeigh. Benedict Arnold. I don't think I need to go on further with this.

He won't be the only one charged....a few more soon. Press conf will be later today.
They went in and shot people in the head...people who were not terrorists!
Military ignored it...but a reporter was there and saw evidence to the contrary.

Tend to agree with you on this one. Makes you wonder why anyone would sign up.
At the same time they let Sandy Burger off for stealing/destroying archive records. Why? Because he's a dem?

He is being charged with the deliberate murder of innocent civilians.
Strange as it seems there is a rule of law even in war and fighting terrorist..if he is guilty than he is no better than terrorist !!
