It is so hard (impossible is what my friend says) for a parent that put their child up for adoption to find them. My friend gave her daughter up for adoption 22 years ago and has been trying to find her for the past 3 years. Its really up to the child if they want to find you. While most children that are adopted thank their birth parents for trying to give them a better life some havent gotten to that point. You dont know where Heidi is right now. The resourses she has to find you are easier. I pray that when she is ready that she looks for you. Merry Christmas. God Bless.

The internet is a great tool to locate someone. You can set up your own website, probably a myspace page would be best, and it's free! But, you will need to include a lot more details than you did in your question, like where she was born, what hospital, and birth weight and hair color, things like that would help narrow the search. Good luck!

Good luck to you... I have been trying to find my birth parents/siblings for the past 9 years (since I turned 18) Most states have certain laws about this. When you gave her up for adoption...their may have been a wavier allowing her to contact you when she reached legal age. That is what I was told by the courthouse (i am in Ohio) I signed my papers allowing any blood relative to find me... but 9 years later nothing has turned up. Keep in mind also... if she was very young her birth certificate may have been changed (as mine was) showing her adoptive parents as her real parents. Most states have adoption registries online, check with your state's website and call around to the courthouses. Checking into the adoption agencie, or hiring a PI is a good way to go too... if you have the money. Good luck on your search!

Their are source's out there, search on the internet, look in your yellow page's, ask for help, it is a easy thing for those out there who specialize in searching for people, and they can direct you to help that will not cost an arm and a leg.
