she has pasty white skin and blond hair. i can tell she has zits when she wears more cover up. then the mascara is put on to make her eylashes from a light brown to a black clump. eyeliner is black and she's bloned. and looks as if she never takes it off and just adds. her make up bugs me BIG TIME and i don't know how to tell her.

Nope. She'd get really offended. Instead, next time your out shopping mention how good she'd look wearing something sheer, find a product, and comment on how much her skin seems like it glows and how her makeup covers it up sometimes. Then find some natural colors that go well with her skin tone by having some fun at a makeup counter. Telling her the cold hard truth, might hurt her feelings...and make her mad at you. So remember, you get more flies with honey. :)

I had a friend one time that had bad personal hygene but myself and our friends didn't want to hurt his feelings and have him know it was us...so we sent him a box with soap and deodorant in it through the mail.

He started to smell better and never mentioned that he got the package. Problem solved.

Mail her some new makeup...and a book of how to put it on...and include pictures of Tammy Faye (Baker) Messner and any other women that wear too much. Or a picture of a clown.

I know that sounds ugly and mean, but sometimes you have to sneak around to spare the friendship.

Either that or learn to deal with your own heebie jeebies about her makeup...it could be that she never had anyone show her how to wear it.

Or you could ask her if you could put her makeup on for her to see what new colors would look like..maybe she'll agree it's better and start using a different touch to apply the paint.

Just ask her one day hey can i do your makeup i have this really good tip.. and then u can put green eyeliner on her and tell her how pretty that looks, for eyeshadow i would reccomend just using browns-0earthtones since she is blonde(i am to thats how i know). Cheap Mascara is usually the cause of clumps. reccomend her a really good mascars like sky high curves.. then encourage her to just wear a little bit of blush instead of campact after you finish tell her to pretty she looks..

For christmas, get her some really nice makeup for her eyelashes ( this will stop clumps ) and a foundation the same color as her skin tone. it cant hurt to drop a few hints along the way!

That is a tuff situation, she wears so much because she is insecure in her own skin, people with skin problems, really get down about it. I think the suggestion to take her for girls day out and get free make-overs would be great! At least you would try, if she goes back to the tammy faye look, just be blunt and tell her.

Why not try leaving hints instead? For example, for Christmas, get her a book about "natural" beauty tips or something like that. Or take her to the department store for a makeover and ask the beautician for a "natural" look.

Offer to get "makeovers" together... go to the makeup counter at the mall and ask them to do your makeup. Or you can offer to do each other's (I know the idea of her doing your makeup may be terrifying, but you can always wash it off). This will give you the opportunity to show her how much better she would look with less makeup.

I agree with "justmyopinion" have a mall day and go get your makeup done at the makeup counter, and maybe a pedicure/manicure...etc, maybe a Christmas present to her...and then rave about how good her makeup looks and that she should do it like that.

I also have a friend that used to wear too much makeup. I confronted her and told her she had way too much and it took away from her natural beauty. Now she only wears lip gloss and some light eyeshadow.

Wait until you see a stranger with too much make-up in public. Then make fun of that person. She'll eventually get the message.
