I do not mean to sound rude, but I disagree. Why let someone get away with writing racist remarks? I think we should let them know that there are people who do not like it, and it is not acceptable to post things like that. But I am willing to try what you are wanting. Maybe they will all go away and leave us alone.

Well, I do happen to believe that some people with racist view points can be reached --- or educated -- by being exposed to another point of view (even if it takes hundreds of times). So, it's not always a waste of time to respond. But, if there is just hatred, well, then there's no point. You can usually feel the differnce between ignorance and hatred.

Maybe that would make them stop asking the questions but then again if people don't answer and point out that they are a racist they might think it's right....i'm not sure it's hard to say what would be the best thing to do.

I see your point, and it certainly is a potentially good suggestion.
However, I think that the only way to deprogram racists is through conversation with them.
I bear the hope that in answering their questions (well some of their questions...) we might as a group reeducate the racists...
Excellent point though - if no one answers, maybe they'll go away...

The best thing to do is ignore these kinds of people and don't add fuel to their fire. However, this is the USA and people should be able to say whatever they feel. I feel sorry for these people, and you should too. Do I agree with their rudeness and insensitivity? Absolutely not. But I will defend their right to say it, then say a prayer that they find the way to unconditional love in their hearts.

I agree, I give them a thumbs down and go to the next question, if no one answers a racist question they have absolutely no power and did not get the attention that they so desperately wanted

You are so right. I don't care about the points. I skip over many questions for the very reason you stated. I could have many more points if I wanted points, but I stay away from just such types of questions. Good for you for bringing this up!

Some people may really want to ask questions about a race to become more knowledgabe; hence, becoming less likely to offend someone. We assume that people should instinctively know, but they don't always, and need to ask. If the question is obviously ignorant, then so is the person who posted it.

I dont agree, because we must answer to put those racist bastards in their places, and say what we think about them. In this hard times it's not right that they are still persons with those old fashioned and uncultured thoughts about races and superiority, that's just stupid, and in my case I cant help it, I cant hold myself and stay quiet. Beside, this is also a site for discussion and for saying what you think.
Merry Christmas
