This is a box that is telling you that your virus database is out of date. Every day, new viruses are discovered and once in a while, AVG will need to update with a database of all the viruses so it can protect your computer. To make this go away, simply click the dialog box, or double click the small icon on your task bar. Once there, click on virus database, if it is not already selected, then choose update. It will do a small process on its own and should only take 2 mins.

It is simply telling you to update your antivirus. Personally I would recommend paying for a different antivirus such as Nod32; the money is well worth it.
