my 1995 ford econoline van seems to have trouble starting in wet conditions in the winter when it warms up after really cold weather. it cranks but doesnt start. usually later that day or the next morning it will barely start. the battery level is below normal but thats not the problem. spark is good so i am thinking it is a fuel problem. i changed the fuel filter a month or two ago. i had to put a new fuel injector in last year or the year before. anyone have any ideas of what could be wrong? it seems like it happens in wet or very humid conditions.

You probably need to replace your spark plug wires/distributor cap and gasket/rotor.

Your vehicle is 16 years old. If you haven't had this work done, it is long overdue.

Basically, the wires have deteriorated and allow moisture into the wires and take the voltage intended for the spark plug and take it directly to ground.

Also, if your distributor cap has deteriorated and allows moisture in, the moisture takes the spark voltage and takes it directly to ground so that it never reaches the plugs.

Until you can get this stuff replaced, pull your distributor cap, and dry it out completely. The spray the inside with silicone spray being careful not to get any on the metal pieces inside.

Then spray down you spark plug wires with silicone to keep the water out. This should get you by until you replace everything.

On fuel injections, there are a fuel pressure regulator. They tend to go bad. Also try some fuel injection clearner, then change your filter again.

Plug wires! Do a tune up on it.
