The tallest man ever recorded was Robert Wadlow of Illinois who at his death was 8ft 11ins, thats 2.71m. He died in 1940 at the age of 22.
Currently the tallest man in the world is 33-year old Leonid Stadnik who lives in Ukraine. In April 2004 his recorded height was 8ft 4in (2.54m) and he continues to grow.
