listen your obviously not understanding the question....i know the pill stops you getting pregnant....im not having periods so i was wondering if i should go on the pill for 1month and then come off to see if i get a period.....and when i said ive allready tried the pill and it didn't work - it means that i went on the pill 4 a month and still had no period...what shall i do? as people are saying to try the pill again so maybe it can regulate my period... i know the pill doesn't get you pregnant but neither having a period gets you pregnant,.....which is why i dont know what to do...apart from booking a doctors appointment and she says its stress.........;-(

Have you been on the pill for awhile, sounds like it. If so its going to take some time for your period to regulate itself... not highly unusual. And in most cases where you have been using the pill for 7 years plus, chances of conceiving are slim a year after the pill (every woman is different). At any rate thats how long it can sometimes take for the body to regulate and produce the sufficient hormones necessary to concieve. The pill essentially tricks the ovaries to believing the body is pregnant because the pill is made so you produce lots of progestrone and not enough estrogen (this hormone allows ovulation) without enough estrogen your body does not ovulate... so yeah the pill may regulate you but it will take away the estrogen away. Just give your body sometime. Sorry it wasn't what you were looking for maybe you should discuss with your OBGYN about other methods to help you regulate but I'm afraid he will give you the same answer.

I was in the same boat as you. When I stopped taking the BC pills I never got a period--for six months!! I had really bad pain down there as well. Turned out that I have PCOS and that I just do not ovulate on my own. There is meds that your doctor can put you on to make you ovulate or help you ovulate that are not BC pills so that you can get preg. I know because I am on them. You just have to make an appointment with the Dr. Good Luck!

Best to get a good gyno doctor and they will advise you on what you can do. The pill anyway wont give you 'real' periods where you can conceive & in anycase you wouldnt fall preg while taking it anyway. If your not having periods your not ovulating & technically cant get pregnant. You need to go to the doc to discuss the problem & find out why your not having regular cycles. When they can figure & sort this out then you can consider trying for a baby. Good luck

Were you on the pill before, if so when did you stop taking it? If you'd been taking the pill for a long time now you've stopped it takes a while for your periods to become regular again.
I've also added a link for you, register (free) and go to the discussion forums. Go to "trying to conceive" and ask your question on there. It's a website for people trying for babies, who are pregnant and who've got babies, you should find it very helpfull.
Hope this helps and good luck x

The pill is not an option for you - the pill STOPS you ovulating hence the reason it is a contraceptive. Yes it will regulate your periods but there is less than 1% chance you will fall pregnant whilst on the pill

I think you should visit your docter and discuss it with them i would imagine if your that irregular it will be hard for you to concieve because you may not be ovulating everymonth.definatly put the money into a fertillity moniter and buy some ovulation kits you can buy them on ebay 10 for £2.00 and there really good always worked for me.I would advise against the pill in many woman the pill makes it harder to concieve after stopping as it blocks a true ovulation and takes time for your ovaries to kick in again.so i wouldnt go messing with that.and even if it regulates your periods it doesent give you a true period anyway thats why woman go on the pill to block ovulation causing a false period.Definatly go see your gp for advice and help pin pointing your fertile times

You need to find out why you are not having periods. Are you very underweight or over weight? Do you have any other health problems?
You may be suffering from a condition called Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, this can cause periods to cease or be irregular. This can be treated with drugs such as Clomid (not "The Pill").

I agree that you shouldn't go on the pill to try to sort this out. Even if that did regulate your periods, it would only be masking the problem.
You really need to have someone look into why your periods are so irregular. It's not a good sign.
See your GP and ask him to refer you to a specialist.

Once infertility has been diagnosed, there are a number of treatment options available depending on the root cause of the problem. Learn here https://tr.im/YEi25
Infertility is a condition defined as not being able to become pregnant after at least one year of unprotected, regular, well-timed intercourse. Women who suffer from multiple miscarriages may also be diagnosed as infertile. Infertility may be classified into two groups, primary and secondary infertility.
