The date most often attributed to the fall of Rome is 476 AD.

Most prevalent theories are as follows:

1) The invasion of barbarians increased debt and caused political instability
2) The rise of Christianity created a group of people who were more interested in the after-death than the on-earth experience
3) Debasement in currency caused a collapse of a free market system
4) The military fell apart because they had contracted the work out to barbarians, and then the barbarians turned on them.
5) The Sassanids (Persians) were a serious threat that took 50 years to get under control
6)Apathy and lack of martial vigor in the populus
7) Increased immigration into Roman territory
8) Increased emigration from Italy
9) The split into east/west
10) The lack of good leaders and the treason of Stilicho

Yeah, it had nothing to do with Alexander the Great.

There are many theories as to how Rome fell. I'm sure it was a combination of all of these factors:

1) Inefficient leadership
2) Collapse of the economy
3) Barbarian invasion
4) The empire was simply too big to manage any more
5) The new beliefs (Christianity) were rejected by the majority of the population
6) Civil unrest (Justinian froze entire families into their careers--for example, a farming family would remain a farming family--to prevent inflation, causing people to get angry with the empire)

However, after the fall, lifestyles largely remained the same throughout the territories. The only difference was that they were no longer under imperial rule.

Hope this helps.

For this one, you really have to ask your teacher. Some teachers go by what a book gives for the fall of Rome, and some hold different opinions. I remember this being a topic in college--my history teacher showed us that there really was no one date for the "fall" of Rome as Rome still exists today. There were days of major deterioration/invasions/changes in government, etc. I recommend you read your book's section on it, talk to your teacher to figure out what she wants in the essay (for you to give a definitive answer-a generic and arbitrary date with some text explanation- or answer how you really feel about it).

Thats Easy !!!

Rome fell by being too corrupt and allowing hoards of illegal alien barbarians to flood into their borders.

Just like what's happening today in the United States

The quarterback, Jim Everett, pushed Rome over a table. You didn't know that?

I think it had to do with Alexzander the Great. I would start there. I know that Alexander the Great king of Macedon defeated the Romans who were also the Greeks and Athens.

The Roman's did not mix their mortar and clay strong enough and, in time, all the structure's crumbled.
