I can't say that it 'annoys' me, but I do find it somewhat humorous - for the most part - sometimes lightly distracting. (They make fun of this tendency in several excellent movies. Kudos on the style and grammar, by the way - rare stuff in here.)

Teachers, with the help of the students and the students parents and society in general, are getting lazier about details and the use of language everyday.
Instead of fighting the good fight no matter the apparent hopelessness of the logistics, they, and other people of good character are succumbing to resignation of standards of excellence.
It has become easier to participate in the dumbing down of our culture than to fight for excellence in the face of overwhelming adversity and apathy.

It sad when you can pick up silly things like that. Teachers are tire, under paid, and is habit when they are usually referring to numbers more than letters. Be easy on them.
and NO I'm not a teacher....but my husband is a professor â¥

I don't recall ever seeing that in college but yes, I can see how that would be annoying. After all they are supposed to be "role models" for grammer etc.

Same way with apartments.
I used to live in apartment "B" and everyone called in "#B"
Yes, It's horribly annoying, but I try not to get too bent out of shape about it.

Haha, yeah...My teachers would always do that (still do) and I would always correct them, and they'd be like "Oh excuse my mistake!" and do it again 5 minutes later. I was like UGH!

Yes because I'm always like "wait what?" And then it takes me a minute to register in my head what they said.
