L.T. and the 06 Chargers Vs 85 Bears Defense?

If this year's Chargers were to go up against the Bear's of 1985 Which team would come out on top?
The Chargers have a very good Defense, Does it match up to the 85 Bear Offense,... with Sweetness, Willie Gault and Jim McMahon?

I'd have to go with da Bears in that matchup. I think that defense was just too good.

People are not taking into account the fact that play has evolved since 1985. The '06 Chargers would kill the '85 Bears, no contest. Payton would get shut down because the Bears O-line would be seeing defensive schemes that they've never seen before. Tomlinson would have enormous holes to run through, and the Bears would have no answer to a TE like Gates. The '06 Chargers offense is far and away better than the '85 Bears (the Chargers offense is on pace to be in the top 5 scoring offenses of all time). And based on athletic talent and defensive scheme, the '06 Chargers have a better defense too. (Sorry Bears fans, players are getting bigger and faster, it's a fact.)

If the Chargers travel back in time to 85 then the Bears would win. If the Bears travel to 2006 then the Chargers would win. Why? The current NFL rules favors the offense. What makes the the Bears defense so intimidating back then are now considered as fouls and penalties. If the Bears play like they did in 85 then Chargers would rack up tons of free yards from roughing the passer, holding, and pass interference.

The Chicago 46 Defense would be able to shut just about everything that the current San Diego team has, even with LT running like a bat out of hell.

Offensively, Walter Payton would do what LT has done to many other defenses. In fact, Walter Payton was the reason and inspiration for LaDainian wanting to play football.

The final score would be Chicago (85) 42 - San Diego (06) 16

The 85 Bears are one of the best teams in NFL history and had probably the greatest defense. This years team is good but shaky at quarterback and the 85 Bears would definetly make him make mistakes. My final score would be 85 Bears 24 06 Bears 13.

Pass defense rules were quite differant in 1985 and today's receivers would have a tough time dealing with it. As for Tomlinson, the Bears shut down a pretty good back and an offensive line much better than the current Chargers in Eric Dickerson and the Rams in the NFC championship game.

Well first of all I dont know because I was born in 85 and wouldnt have the slightest about how the bears did. But from what I've heard they were great. I think it would be a close game, but I would have to pull for the Chargers cuz they are my team.

i hate when morons say the chargers will beat the 1985 bears... obviosly you have not seen there games and you would say the chargers...this is the so stupid the chargers can not compare to the 1985 bears you must be a complete moron if you think LT can go through the strongest defense of all time.
