Happiness doesn't come from other people. You can't WISH someone else into a different mood. Happiness comes from within.

Evidence of this is plentiful: some people are miserable despite having what would seem to be anything a person could wish for, and some people are blissful in spite of having the whole world seem to turn against them (and some BECAUSE of it!).

People are complicated, and so are their moods!

Nobody's always happy. Our moods change from moment to moment, depending on a myriad of factors. My life could be the envy of many other people's, even at its worst moments, yet I'd still feel bad at times and good at times. We can only feel happy if we have something to compare it to: if at every moment you felt the same, and some people would call that feeling "happy," you'd call it "normal," and say you feel "ok."

Of course a lot has to do with brain chemistry, but anyone who constantly felt like someone does in a manic state, or even a hypomanic state, would eventually fry their brain and have their head explode.

Well, those are good things, but not enough to make a judgment on whether that person would be happy or not.

I would be extremely happy, as long as I was pretty healthy and had a productive useful existence.

It all comes down to you. No one can make you happy, it's a decision you have to make yourself, apart from all other factors in the world.
