I wanted to get tequilla shots, little mexican souveneirs, candles, and mexican candy to fill a guest gift basket for my destination wedding. Would it be cheaper to buy everything once I get to Cancun or to order everything online or here?

i would buy everything here in the states except for the mexican candies because you cant get the really good ones here.
(remember cancun is a tourist destination and they can rip you off if your not mexican and know what everything is worth)

Well it depends on where you plan on shopping in Cancun. The airport has as good a prices on tequilla as anywhere. Don't let anyone convince you that Market 28 has the best prices ....... not true. You can get things as cheap as anywhere in Cancun at Flamingo plaza....unless you want to go downtown to Tulum Street. Things are cheaper downtown, but you have to know the areas to go. I would buy it in Cancun....even if it cost a little more.....because getting through customs and hauling it down there is a pain. There is also Market ***** and Coral Beach.....you can barter with them and get some good prices. Definitely wait until you get there!!!!

If you are good at bartering I would wait until you get down there. If you are good at it then you can get great deals! If you are shy and afraid to ask for a cheap price, then they will rip you off!
