It depends on the problem. As long as the problem doesn't involve my husband, then I turn to him immediately. When the problem involves my husband, I turn to trusted friends.

My spouse who is my best and trusted friend. If you can't turn to your spouse (unless they are the problem or are the types that freak out over problems) then who else can you turn to?

Another thing, If I couldn't turn to my spouse with a big problem, then I wouldn't be married to them.

I go for as long a walk as I can and for several days. You would be amazed how things take a different perspective...
Probably because you are doing something very symmetrical and it obliges the two sides of your brain to actively interact...
I suppose, yoga and Tai Chi or quiet meditation could help too...
When you ask someone else, you risk to burden them with your problem and if you follow their advices and they turn not as expect, everyone feels awkward...
Then you can talk to whoever you trust the best in the circumstances, once your spouse, once your friend....

The way that I see it is that I would turn to my spouse first you are in a commited relationship and you are supposed to be able to communicate about anything but if there isnt any communication there then I guess I would say turn to your trusted friend first. I know how it is I was in a marriage and my husband always seem to get mad at me because I wouldnt turn to him. He didnt understand that we didnt have the type of communication like most couples do.....Good luck

Big problems are usually spouse related. Better to go to the trusted friend first. Then to your spouse. Then probably to the marriage counselor. Or your sidepiece.

I would have to say your spouse should be first. Isn't your spouse supposed to be your most trusted friend?
