I think it depends on the store.

Tesco do an online applcation.

John Lewis and Waitrose have an online application.

It would appear that some do and some don't. You would need to look specifically for the staor you are interested in obtaining a card from.

I wouldn't apply for one at all. They usually charge you 29.9% interest - this is about as high as the law allows before the directors are arrested. Why not get an ordinary credit card which charges around 15%?
