It was originally done in the early 50s by Eartha Kitt and it wasn't meant to be a children's song. It was done in an adult cabaret show. Madonna's version almost sounds cartoonish compared to the Eartha Kitt version, she just purrs it very sexily. LOL.
Not all music is meant for children's ears but compared to alot of the stuff out there today Kitt's and Madonna's versions are tame.
If you don't like the song turn it off .

Santa is not really Santa in the song. She's singing to her mobster husband or something along those lines. You know how dad dresses up in the Santa suit for the kids? That’s the Santa she’s singing to.

Well since "santa" is the person who sneaks gifts under the tree for you at night, I think this song was actually referring to a significant other as "santa" not the actual santa.
