get a note from your employer stating that you have to work in order to meet their staffing standards. It worked for me.

Give this some more thought. I tried to get out of it, but didn't succeed. But I wound up glad I got to serve. I really learned a lot about the judicial system, and about people in general. My last trial, I was picked as head juror and we sent a guy to life in prison for murder. I felt good about that.

If you have prior knowledge of the case coming up, you can be excused. On a funny note, you could run around screaming "capital punishment!!!!" They jury pickers should like that!

Just do your civic duty. If you were on trial wouldn't you want normal everyday people on your jury? Most people don't want to do it but chances are you won't get picked and you geta break form work for a little bit.

tell them that you are an anarchist. I once told them that I didn't believe in the court system, and I didn't want to be responsible for anything that would occur there. (all of this true) and they let me go....
