The original is by far the best! Of course, Manson's cover of it is the best thing he's done by miles -- a sad commentary on his "talent".

Not the original by Gloria Jones.
There are three versions:
Gloria Jones 1964
Soft Cell 1982
Marilyn Manson 2001

The original by soft cell is 1,000 times better than Manson's.

Soft cell. Manson is really not my type of a person. Some songs of his are OK, but anything original would be better than his remake.

You like Soft Cell's version better? What are you guys like 90? Manson definitely made a great remake. Now if we could only keep Rihanna from remaking classics that she doesn't deserve to touch...

i like the original but i cant denied that Marilyn Manson did a great job singing it, actually he does great jobs singing other peoples songs like personal Jesus from depeche mode... awesome

The original was actually sung by a woman, Soft Cell's was the second version, and in my humble opinion, the best!

ACTUALLY TAINTED LOVE WAS FIRST SUNG BY GLORIA JONES IN 1964.SOFT CELL REMADE THE SONG IN THE 80'S AND THEN MARILYN MANSON...
SO THE SONG IS LIKE 42 YEARS OLD!
BUT I THINK SOFT CELLS VERSION IS BETTER.
I ONLY HEARD THE ORIGINAL 1 TIME AND ITS MUCH FASTER THAN SOFT CELL VERSION.
