Why in america do we place such a strong emphasis on the importance of celebrities (sports, movies and music) to be such positive role models for our children? Why do we idolize these people? Just because they have a talent for physical activity, acting or singing does not mean they are meant to be role models for our children. In my humble opinion, there is nothing special about these people except the fact that we give them our money to entertain us and thus we think that means they are to be idolized. Some of these celebrities are horrible people and if you knew them personally you wouldn't want to associate with them. Take Snoop Dogg for instance, he's a self-proclaimed herbal essence enjoyer and the media just love him. His music is degrading to women. What's so great about that? Am I being a square or do you agree with me?
