In that people will basically force us to get out when we're [yay far] from winning? It seems hopeless, doesn't it?

Um...BoxerMan, are you a complete idiot? I'm pointing out to the "far leftists" that they'll be the ones halting us from our victory when we are > < far from winning.
Seriously. Are you dumb.

Kind of. This war is like Vietnam in the sence it is a media war. Like i've said before
"When was the last time you saw an accomplishment of the war on TV? When Saddam was captured over a year ago? All it shows is the bad that's coming from the war, the death, destruction and chaos. The fact is that most Iraqi people want American troops there. Why don't we see the pictures of American troops carrying injured children to bases for surgery? They show the hero's who died to protect this country, but not the ones who are working and fighting day-in and day out? Why is the media so quick to jump onto pictures of death only and not pictures of success? It's like the media is trying to degrade the dead and turn Americans against their soldiers. We need to remember who the enemy is here. I do think it is a great shame that we've lost so many in Iraq, and think that the war should end as soon as possible, but the fact of the matter is we're in it for the long run. American wont pull out until the job is done."
In that way the war now relates to Vietnam. But I will be gone to hell the day that an American citizen, for or against the war, spits on a noble soldier.

In reality the three divisions in Iraq each have claims to it's wealth. Divisions between them are far deeper than westerners can understand. What we need to do is tell Syria and Iran that if anyone is found to have come from their countries they will bear the burden of compensation for those injured and damages done. The resources of those two countries will be attached to cover the damages and suits. If France and others were allowed to punish the Germans for both world wars, which they were, then we should be permitted to charge Iran and Syria for their support of terrorist. That is why this is different than Nam.

It seems to be that way, but I don’t think it would be the same. In this high sophisticate world of technology, the US still come ahead. Our intelligent military with experience have the will power. I don’t think it would last that long. I believe that, United States military will learn from our past failure, and come up with better ideas to win this war shortly.

The Vietnam war cost the lives of over 50,000 US military personnel and nearly 3 million Vietnemese. The Iraq war pales in comparison when considering the death tolls.

It's another Vietnam run by politicians for their own purposes. We lost in Vietnam and we'll lose in Iraq, not because of the troops but because of the idiots in Washington DC.

I agree now, I didn't earlier. It seems that our soldiers are not being allowed to win the war.
