I have just watched the tv news, both on Sky and local stations. The headlines on all were, "brave women catch fugitive pursued by police".

The video footage in fact showed two women attempting to block the passage of the fugitive who avoided their efforts. A male van driver seeing what was happening left his van and after giving chase managed to apprehend the fugitive before the forementioned women and police arrived at the scene.

1st rule of journalism is 'never let the truth get in the way of a good story'

Of course it misrepresents the truth, it's there to sell itself, to make a profit, to get good headlines, to further the agendas of interest groups who may have an influence on them. The truth comes much further down the list of priorities. Unfortunately, people need to be sceptical about what they see/hear/read in the media.

watch CNN or other world news - I guarantee you will be given a different view of the same story.

BBC once made a documentary about underwater creatures out of an acquarium and pretended that it was taken under the sea. The 'truth' was discovered by some reporters and although they admitted that, they didn't think it was wrong because 'it was an educational program and the audience will get more out of it.'

of course they don't. i dont even think they know the difference anymore, how can they live with themselves.
if we dont buy the newspapers then they will loose money to fulfill their lies.
even the stephenson report on diana seems like a pack of well manipulated lies, if you belong to the right club or circle of toffee nosed cretins then they will get off with anything.
its those of us who dont believe what they tell us that dont have a say.

The media misrepresents the truth all the time.

If they didn't, they would be out of jobs.
