Sure, it should be allowed to be played on Christmas, although I respect the spirit of your question.

I do think televised football is an escape for lots of people who don't want meaningful interactions with their families, but if football wasn't on, they'd find some other way to escape meaningful interactions.

It's also a distraction from the "true meaning of Christmas", but not nearly as much as the blatant consumerism and present-buying. And again, people who want to escape the religious reasons for Christmas will find some other way to escape. Preventing football from being played on Christmas would only lead them to watch some other sport or entertainment.

Also, there are lots of Americans who aren't Christian. Should they be deprived of football on a day off that is religiously meaningless to them?

We can't force people (or even effectively encourage them) to behave in a better, more religious and/or more holy way by removing a temptation or distraction here or there. People have to choose to be religious despite the distractions. No one can make that choice for them. (Even if people were forced to go to church every Sunday, they couldn't be forced to actually listen to the readings or sermons, or to get any meaning out of the experience they don't wish to receive.)

No because I know little ones like to watch it and so do adults but most of the kids would be playing with their stuff and if they got done playing and wanted to watch football this time of year ESPN classic has football games playing all the time and yes I know games were played on Thanksgiving but you know it wasn't Christ's Birthday either and too it isn't as much of a family Holiday! So no I don't think they should play football on Christmas cause it takes players away from their loving family!

The gamers like to play on Christmas nighttime! that's a wager to be in the highlight, and that doesn't take place on a countrywide point in the NFL too in many cases. See maximum video games are performed on Sunday afternoon, which skill the video games are only televised to a close by marketplace. however the nighttime video games are Nationally televised, that is a vast deal. in truth, that's one in each of those huge deal, that this Christmas there are unquestionably 2 video games being performed. additionally, there are a number of human beings who could artwork on Christmas, no longer only NFL gamers. As a cafe supervisor I had to open Christmas morning some years in the past, because of the fact our place became placed close to a action picture tutor. Christmas Day is unquestionably between the busiest days of the 300 and sixty 5 days for action picture theaters, and that they could be totally staffed. My spouse works retail, and concept she is off Christmas Day, she has to artwork at present (Christmas Eve) and she or he must be to artwork at 6am the day after Christmas. All those places human beings pass buying, be it on the morning time the morning after Thanksgiving, or final minute Christmas Eve, require a huge team of human beings to function. in truth, many retail shops require that each and each single worker they have artwork those days. this boundaries the skill to ever take a holiday holiday, or have kin pass to (who desires to pass to once you would be working conventional?). All of those human beings make heavily below a expert soccer participant, and that i by no skill hear anyone ask in the event that they could desire to have a break. in truth, those self same human beings could cope with all the sorrowful ******* returning their undesirable promises the week after the holiday journeys... excitement to the international.

As someone who loves football I must say that I don't want to see it played on Dec. 25th.

My reasons why would only offend many.

Oh, ok -- its because we celebrate family gift giving and the real meaning of Christmas (Christ-mas).

uh, yeah. I mean it's sad they don't get to be with their families. hell. most of them bring their families. But football bring our families together, lets us have fun rooting for our teams, rooting against others, and making bets against family members then getting to beat them til they pay up.

KEEP PLAYIN FOOTBALL ON CHRISTMAS!!
