People love to start gay rumors in Hollywood. It sells newspapers.
He has appeared in Alexander, which gave him the role of Hephaestion (the military genius' supposed gay lover). This leads to people making personality associations from the character to the actor.
I prefer to look at the exact words of the man himself, rather than heresay.
In an interview with SPIN magazine, Jared declared he was, "as gay as a goose". In another interview with AOL, he made the same statement. Shortly afterward, he says, "I'm like Morrissey...I thought he was asexual?".
In an interview with Out magazine in 2004, Leto told writer Degen Pener: “I know I’m gay. I must be gay.”
Now, you must understand that celebrities often create publicity for themselves by saying things such as this.
It is quite possible that he is gay, or bisexual. It is also quite possible that he is creating rumors for himself.
My belief is that if he were honestly gay, and wanted to tell the world, he would do it through a more reputable source than an AOL chat room.

i heard the same about justin timberlake, but i dont think either is true. Just to be certain let me dial them on speedial.

Regardless to if he did or not, I ALWAYS thought he was gay.
I mean, let's face it, anybody who's into performing has to be a little gay. Real straight guys go into plumbing and pool cleaning, not acting or singing.
