I just got my 1st shot about a month ago. They inject it in your arm, they may be some soreness but it wasnt bad at all. I have to go back in a in a week to get the 2nd one and then in 4 months for the last. I dont know how old you are, but it is only recommded for ages 11-26. I think it is a good idea. I dont know about what insurance covers or not.

I had my first almost two months ago and I'm going back in a few weeks for my second. It doesn't hurt more than any normal vaccine. It's not really a big deal for me because I have to give myself shots every day but I used to be terrified of needles. Just close your eyes and if you have a good doctor it won't hurt. I think it's worth it because it gives you protection against cervical cancer. I got mine in the upper arm where it doesn't hurt. I have no idea about the insurance since I'm only about to turn 14 and my mom handles the insurance stuff.

For those who don't know what Gardasil is...

Gardasil vaccine prevents several different strains of Human Papillomavirus (HPV). HPV is known to cause different cervical cancers. Most HPV virus infections are found with a PAP smear test. If undected the virus may go away on its own or may develope into cervical cancer.

Gardasil is given as a three shot series: One now, 2nd shot in 2 months after first dose and the last vaccination 6 months after the first shot.

Are you afraid of needles?

Well, I don't know and I'm not planning on getting the shot. In my opinion, getting the shot means you're planning on becoming sexually active before marriage. Since once you're married, as long as you don't cheat on each other, you don't have to worry about getting HPV. So just don't have sex till your married and then you won't need the shot cause it's just not a good idea.
