Most common reason animals loose their hair is because of allergiess! MOST common is a food allergie! Look at the label on your food, If you see beef or corn then you have a very good chance that is is an allergies from one of those two things, If you buy your food at the grocery store it is not a very good food. Most people do not know this.

Grocery store food:

Has buy products
corn as a filler (undigestable)
Sometime beef (believe it or not dog do not do well with beef)

Corn and beef are the biggest problem

Try one of these
Nutro
Avoderm
Nature Reciept
Royal Caine

They are more expensive but for one your dogs will eat less and have less waste in the yard to clean up as well. It takes about two weeks to flush the system of the old food but by the second month you should see a hugh improvment

Hope this helps

do they have "loose" hair or do they "lose" their hair. "Loose" means not secure or free from anything that binds or restrains. "Lose" means to come to be without or fail to keep. Sorry, just a pet peave.
If your animal loses it's hair and has sore spots it's probably because of dry skin. Soak the animal in a combination of olive oil, Vitamin E, and Prell hair conditioner. You should soak them for at least 15 minutes. Then take them out and pour corn starch on them. This will serve to retain the moisture. Of course if your "Little Jack" is losing his eyebrows you'll have to hold his head under for the 15 minutes in order for this to work.

sounds like either some kind of allergy or possibly dry air. One of our dogs loses her hair on her belly in fall - gets real itchy and red. She grows it back once winter actually starts and fall is over with.
You could put a benadryl- antihistimine (no itch) ointment on that spot and see if it helps them at all. If it is a skin allergy, probably will.

I beleive it is a dry skin condition. Feed them cottage cheese w/an egg in it a couple of times a week and rub baby oil on them. It is a heck of a lot cheaper then taking them to the vet! Do not bathe them in the winter months if you can help it. Good luck!
