There are many programs on your computer that are communicating with the internet. Some legitimate programs are:
Instant messengers that are running in the background
Windows Update services
Other updaters for other programs you may have installed
Other bad programs might include viruses, trojans, spyware, etc. You may have to run a program like Adaware or AVG to get rid of them (both are free).
If you are really paranoid about it, just pull your internet plug. All communication will stop!

you are connected to net net through you ISP.. so your computer (modem) is cheating to the server,, thats why your getting activity bites
