I don't so much mean on a personal level. Why do people fear Wal-Mart, Exxon, the U.S., seems as though when someone/thing finds great success, that there is an automatic fear of a conspicacy of doom. That some super secrete society has blessed them with success and has allowed them to be a player in everyone else's downfall. People resent the rich/powerfull and want to see them brought down. Why is that? What is this fear?

Because its a reminder of what said person can not do. It reinforces insecurities of our own abilities. Its the carnal part of our humanity that always desires the posessions of others.
