well im trying to delete this video file but it keeps saying something else is using it so i cant delete it but nothing else is open how can i delete it

Log in safe mode and delete it from there.

Have same problem now.Folders and files to a movie wont delete,says in use no ,and trhey are empty cant delete,tried in safe mode and still can't delete,can't move them ,i sure will be watching to see if you get a fix,cause ive tried everything and no luck.Maybe try restore past the date on that file.Ill try that next.Good luck.

If you have a file open, you cannot delete it at the same time.

Close the file, then browse for the file name and delete it this time. If it is selected but unopen, it should recognize the deletion instruction.

hit control+alt+delete and your task window will pop up with all your current applications running. If the video is in use then there will be a process showing that the certian media player is being used(ei windows media player, real media player, itunes..) hightlight it and click end task. Then you should be able to delete that video. If not try restarting your computer and then deleting it.

Check your processes and see if you see anything that could be "running" the video. Also try and restarting the computer then deleting the video.
