Guinea pigs don't get colds, they get upper respitory infections which will kill him quickly if you don't get him to the vet ASAP! Don't wait to see if he gets better, he could die in hours. They are prey animals, so when you notice they are sick, they are already VERY sick.

How long has your guinea pig been like this? If it's been more than 12 hours, I would take him to the vet right away, preferrably today. Prey animals will hide illness so as not to appear weak and vulnerable to predators. Therefore, not to scare you, but the fact that your pet is alert doesn't necessarily mean that this is a minor illness. If your guinea pig is not eating and drinking, it could be any number of illnesses (infections, malocclusion--a condition where the teeth have overgrown), but it's almost certainly not something that will just go away on its own if this behavior has lasted for more than 12 hours or so with no improvement.

Take him to the vet. He might have a cold and guinea pigs are usally likely to die after they get sick but can fix it if you bring it in when you notice it. :) :P :D
