It's not a choice. I can't just MAKE myself 3 feet taller either. If parents requested this of their child, it's the parents who should be ashamed. They're asking the impossible of their child. I'm sure a lot of kids pretend to be straight or repress all of their sexual urges until they don't feel anything anymore, but they DON'T change.

I am sorry that you are going through this. Luckily for me, my parents were very understanding. You have got to do whatever it takes to convince them that homosexuality is not something you can choose. It is something that you are born with. If they still don't get it, ask them to be homosexual. Hopefully, when they realize how absurd that is, it will make more sense as to why you can not change. We are living in a difficult time. I pray that someday people will realize that there is nothing wrong with us.

Okay, the way I worked this out on my head was to reverse the preferences.
If my mom and dad said "Bill, you have to be homosexual or we're disowning you," it would hurt but I'd say "bye."
I imagine it would be the same for a homosexual person in that predicament. Ouch.

Then I would tell them if they wish to ignore me, that is their choice and their loss. Change as they are asking for is simply not possible.

Its your life to live. In the end, you have to live with the decisions you make. Make the decisions that work for YOU, not anyone else. Be who you are.

Ignore your parents and be who you want to be. Be happy - it's your life, not theirs.

Ignore them right back, or try to talk with them.

Having lived and wasted 30 years of my life to please others, I would say....
Do not deny yourself, be true to yourself. Live your life for you and those that love you as you are. Do not be something you are not to please another.
