I bought a diamond ring for alot of money and when it was made 3 July 2006 the guy said take it home and try it on...etc see if it fits you. it didnt yet the size is wrong because the ring was wide so its the sellers fault not mine etc...late november i took it back to be resized (was busy) and today was told that cant be resized because would damage the ring. ive also been told nothing they can do...im basically stuck with a ring i paid for over 5 thousand and nothing i can do about it. is this true? am in ireland? any advice would be greatly apreicated?

you are entitled to a full refund. if a product is not satisfactory then you can claim a full refund. you should contact the small claims court. http://www.citizensinformation.ie/categories. try this link for consumer protection in formation for ireland.

I'm pretty sure that's your bad for buying it without seeing if it fit or could be resized. You should have investigated that before you paid so much money for it!!!! What the heck were you thinking? You can't hold the seller responsible for YOUR lapse in judgment. How could you possibly blame the seller for that?

Just sell it or trade it in at another jeweler.

Find a competing jeweler and explain the situation. Likely they will want to make it right so you will use them next time. They will charge you though but you may not have other options. Good Luck!
