Oh my gosh this one is my story! I wasn't on Birth Control, and my boyfriend at the time never wore condoms. We successfully used the "Pull Out" method for a year! After the year, I got pregnant. Can't say it's anyone's fault but my own, how dumb of me! Well he turned into my husband, who is now my ex-husband, but our 2 year old daughter is truly a blessing! So, i'm proof...the pull out method is not guaranteed! If this isn't enough, give him this link to read:

Good Luck! Happy Holidays to you too!

Withdrawal Method
What is the withdrawal method?

The withdrawal method is one that has been practiced for centuries. It is a method which is always convenient and available, since all it involves is the man attempting to withdraw his penis before he ejaculates. Of course control over ejaculation is not so finite, and the withdrawal method is known to be the least effective form of birth control.

How effective is the withdrawal method?

For the average couple, the withdrawal method is only 82% effective. This is due to the fact that some men find it difficult to control the point of ejaculation, and accidentally release sperm into the vagina. Accidents like these are particularly pervasive in younger men with little sexual activity. Another reason that this method can fail is because the clear liquid discharged from the Cowper’s gland before ejaculation is rich with sperm cells. Since it is difficult to tell if this pre-ejaculate is leaking out of the penis, the withdrawal method is deceptively unsafe.

Practical concerns with the withdrawal method

The withdrawal method depends on one thing; the man must be alert enough to remove his penis in time. If a man does get wrapped up in the moment then this method will certainly fail. Secondly, there is no way for a man to restrict the flow of Cowper’s fluid from his penis, and thus no assurance the method will work. Furthermore, if a woman doubts the man's ability to withdraw his penis in time, she will not be relaxed and able to enjoy the experience.

Me and my husband have been using the pull and pray method for 5 years and i haven't gotten pregnant however the first time i let him not pull it out i became pregnant last year while on my period but miscarried at 5 weeks. The withdrawl method is the only thing we use and i only have one child and he is 5 years old.
Good luck and Merry Christmas!

ive used the pull out method for the past 3 years with no mistakes however ive been with my partner for 9 years, we have a 3 year old daughter and it would definately not be a problem if we were to fall pregnant. i feel that the pull out method is far from safe as a preventative from getting pregnant and should only be used if it wouldnt be the end of the world if you were to find yourself with a bun in the oven. definately dont use this method with a new boyfriend...if he doesnt want to put something on the end of it then he doesnt get sex, end of lol. xxx

28% failure rate. If you do not want to be a new Mommy and Daddy, I highly suggest you stay away from this method and spermicide (with a similar failure rate). There is liquid containing sperm that is produced and dribbled before actual ejaculation. Also, once a man starts to orgasam, he can not gaurentee that nothing is going to come out before he pulls out. If you two are at a point in your relationship where unprotected intercourse is the way BOTH of you want to go, then you should consider getting on birth control and one that you can use properly. The ring is nice because it's kind of a "set it and forget it" type of birth control.

It is a risky try if you do the "pull out" method because many men have what you call pre-*** that can pregnant a woman. I know of people that have gotten pregnant off of this method. I wouldn't rely on it too long, just because you're not pregnant now, doesn't mean you won't be the next few times you do it.

To answer your question it depends how diligent he is about "pulling out". According to the website below, "typical" use is about 81% effective. With Dilligent use being as high as 96% effective.

This is not including anything else having been done. I would imaging the numbers drop significantly if he has ejaculated either orally or otherwise.

My opinion: Don't use the "Pull Out Method" unless you want a child eventually. There is a huge amount of options for Birth Control out there that are much more effective.

Absolutely you can get pregnant. And the chances are surprisingly high. During intercourse, semen is secreted as a lubricant and it can contain small amounts of sperm. Remember it only takes one good swimmer. Also, I've tried the pull out method (though using the pill as well) and sometimes it's a little hard to judge the exact moment to go. Also, if anything were to spill near you, the chances increase of you being able to get pregnant. I would never recommend this as the only method.

I think it's about a 20-40% chance of getting pregnant using it.
You absolutely can get pregnant from it. I am currently 22 weeks pregnant after that method!!
My sister also got pregnant using it.
