Hi everyone, thank you so much for taking your time to read this. I have looked everywhere trying to come up with a great name for a dance studio I am opening up in Hollywood, CA and found nothing that resonates with what I want my studio to represent. So I was hoping if I reached out to you, that you might just have a great idea for a name. Any contribution you make would make a world of difference so thank you in advance !!!
JUst to give you a taste of what it will be:
After school program for kids - ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hip
All of the above for adults throughout the week as well as all of the ballroom styles (salsa, tango, waltz, etc)
I will also have a saturday workshop named after a mentor of mine that will be an audition only dance company.
I want people to leave there knowing that they can always comeback and have a blast dancing. Whether its to learn a few moves, prepare for a wedding, lose weight or just to release the stress of the day. I want it to be their refuge. THX!

Hey Meech,
Naming something is so difficult, and so important. You want the name to dance in their heads, when they think of dance they think of your studio. Sounds like you are not interested in:
Hollywood Dance, or
Meech Dance,
So, how about looking at Acronyms with the Styles of Dance, to make a word - and on the sigh, you run the Acronym one way, and the styles spell out the other.
Ballet
Tap
Jazz
Hip-Hop
Salsa,
Tango
Waltz
This does not resonate either. hmmm, how about something like ALL or People, or Dance for Life, or Life is a Dance Studio,
First Dance. Last Dance, Maybe Dance is not in the name, like
Move your body - or Rhythms and Moves,
I like the last one, and you fried my brain on this one.

Hollywood Dance Center would be my favorite. That's plane and simple, nothing cheesy.
Dance Fantastic - I like it less.
Dance Universe.
I like Rustskipper's idea - First Dance.
The problem with silly names - serious dancers won't like it. The name has to fit all occasions. Imagine a competition MC announcing a couple from your studio. Imagine a ballet dancer putting it on his/her resume.
I'd stay away from colloquial expressions - it indicates the age group too strongly. In my mind, Decadance would sound teen, so older folks would end up avoiding it. Smooth Operation would sound 60s and also it refers to a dance style which makes it sound like this studio is only teaching American Ballroom. I'd avoid referring to a name of a dance or a name of a style, to keep it universal. It wouldn't occur to me to look for ballet lessons at Rumba Central. That said, a name would never stop me from attending a studio, but yeah, I'd ask extra questions if someone were to refer me to a studio with a strange name.

I love your idea- I take dance classes myself. I think you should try to connect with the customers. Anything too weird is going to make older adults like me feel it's not their thing-- I wouldn't consider a place like "Liquid Motion" something for social/ballroom dancing- I'd assume it was too modern, or else for teens. Parents might not take a weird, trendy name too seriously if they're looking for traditional tap and ballet.
I'd probably go with "My Name" Dance Studio, Two 2 Tango, Cha-Cha Dance Company, Swing Out School of Dance- something very traditional. My ideas sound lame, I know. I liked the other person's idea: First Dance or something, Learn 2 Dance.. it all depends on who you're customer will be.
Hollywood Dance is already taken

Here are a few of my favorite studio names. I think the title needs to create excitement, energy or prestige. Make it something a majority of the public can relate to and understand immediately what you offer in the way of services. EXTREME DANCE, MOVE AND GROOVE, DANCE POWER PRODUCTIONS, DANCE AND COMPANY. Good luck!

naming something is very hard. i attend a dance school in cali called California Ballet. we (the students) also shorten it to cal bal when we are just talking to each other. maybe you could try naming it after where it is or the types of dance you have. pick something that your student will love and something that would make new comers attracted to (more business for you)

Lil Bunny Foo Foo or Fluff Master Squish lol! I love those names :) If you like more traditional, you can try cartoon bunny names like Bugz Bunny, or Babz and Buster Bunny.
