FBI released files that said John Lennon was indeed an anti-war activist... I'm really not surprised, didn't even blink an eye... They said it was withheld due to not wanting to mess relations up with England on the military level. Some say it's a example of to much government control...

I don't understand how in a free country, government agencies that work for us can have secrets from us. I am not referring to classified military technology or strategies, I am referring to contacts between our politicians and foreign governments, and information about public citizens, whether American or foreign.
There is a file, for example on Martin Luther King that has been locked up. In the meantime, history has been rewritten to the point that he is now considered St. Martin. Many of us who have been around a long time and have done our homework, know that the image and them man are considerably different. The question I have is, why do we allow our employee (government officials: elected and appointed public servants) with hold information and create fictitious heroes and villains.
How can we trust politicians who make secret deals with foreign governments, and lie to us? If it were in my power, there would be no government secrets, other than military. After all, in our country, government works for us, not the other way around,

The interesting thing was that they US refused to release the files until recently. They claimed releasing the files would hurt relations with an unnamed country (turned out to be England) and might cause retaliation. Obviously England wouldn't retaliate for releasing files showing they were spying on Lennon. It is now also obvious that Lennon was not a danger to England or the US. He was only involved with peaceful groups.

Yeah, right! Government control. John Lennon was more dangerous to a bag of Oreos than he was to anything else. I still don't understand this God-like authority that some people like to bestow on celebrities, most of whom have IQs that are equivalent to room temperature.

Government has a responsibility to protect its citizens. Hanoi John Lennon was a foreigner actively engaged in undermining America and so he was investigated.
FYI - he was investigated by a DEMOCRAT. See back in those days Democrats weren't all spineless wimps.

i'm basically shocked that the killer did no longer sue John Lennon's family members for giving him a foul autograph. i do no longer think of he will stay long, i'm useful there's a itemizing of persons waiting to kill him, that must be justice.
