Because not everyone owns the same kind of camera and different cameras do different things. I think it makes perfect sense. You want to be especially careful when someone you don't know comes up to you, throws their camera in your face and tells you to take a picture of them - you don't want to do anything wrong.

No, have you seen the cameras lately??? Hell, they have so many buttons!!! For instance I ALWAYS have to tell people which button to push since the video and pic button are next together and the vid one is bigger and shinny and the other one is not, people go for shinny one of course!

LOL. Dane Cook said that didn't he? It's always in the top right hand corner where it has always been. I guess people just wanna make sure they are pressing the right button because now adays sometimes there are millions of buttons and stuff to do.

lol you are right, but I must admit that I almost always ask. It's a reflex I guess, in the same way you'll ask someone how it's going when you don't really care, or you'll ask someone coming in with an umbrella all wet if it's raining outside.

Because I such a Modern Camera. And eveybody is afraid of even touching it, cause it is worth about $1000.

yeah, but they're just not familiar with YOUR camera. And they think that somehow they could mess something up. and they're nervous. they're going to cut your head out of the picture anyways.
