In physical strength, the Hercules Beetle is the top animal with a 500-600x lifting strength when compared to its own weight.

For survival, the water bear (Phylum Tardigrada) is the ultimate survivor. These little animals can live in ANY environment. If the conditions become to harsh, they can undergo cryptobiosis, which allows them to remove all water from their bodies and undergo an elongated hibernation status until conditions become favorable again. Furthermore, their hibernation could last for years. There was one that was "asleep" for 150 years and then woke up again. They have been found on the lips of volcanoes, in hydrothermal vents, and in the antarctic. Let's see an Emperor Penguin do that.

facinating website u must read:

Strongest Animal
The rhinoceros beetle can lift 850 times its own weight.

i didnt know a beetle was actually an animal. referring to your penguin, that means u classify the strongest animal as withstanding cold temps not lifting weights. in that case , how about polar bears? or camels which can withstand the opposite temp. a penguin would suffer in the heat surely?
