I am 5 mon. pregnant and it seems like everyone- even strangers will come up to me and tell me their awful experiences with their deliveries. This is my first pregnancy and so I have like no clue what to expect and with all these people telling me how awful things were for them it is just freaking me out. I am so nervous. Is labor really that bad?!

it will be hard, yes, but it can be pleasurable too.

read Ina May's guide to childbirth by Ina May Gaskin, and Birthing From Within. Your local library should have them.

You have to have a good mindset, if you try to escape the pain it will be hard, but if you accept it as "tightening sensations" that are working to push your baby out, it is better. The more you prepare yourself the better,
