I would rather that she be a prostitute then a lawyer. I would not want her to be a cheap street hooker, but a high class courtesan or escort. She has the brains and beauty to be whatever she wants and I will support any decision she makes, but I cannot think of a worse or more lowlife profession than attorney.

Am I wrong?

What can I say to her to convey my disappointment?

She probably has it figured out already! By getting into the right law firm, she can locate clients for her "other" after-hours profession.

There is an old saying: The world has enough lawyers, but not enough good lawyers. Your sister could use her law degree for good, and make a positive difference.

Also, the legal profession is nothing like what you see on television, which is probably true for most careers. A large portion of attorneys give significantly to charity and are good neighbors and citizens. Unfortunately, a few rotten apples spoil the whole bunch---and television finds the bad lawyers much more interesting to broadcast.

In general I hate lawyers too. BUT...as has been said you support your sister and wish her the best. Love is not about having her do you want. Tough lesson but true.

Secondly, even though some lawyers are scum sucking low life bottom dwellers who want your money and nothing else many people go to law school and never practice law. Some defend some prosecute some help the poor some go into business some go into politics some become creeps...you get the idea.

Maybe we could see what this poor girl does with her life before we totally condemn. Remember, attitude is a choice.

Keep this in mind, shes safer in a court yelling at people then walking the streets sleeping with guys for money. Do you watch the new? The whole Jake the Ripper back? Thing With like more than 3 prositute naked and dead in a river. So do you want the last time you see you sister to be going to the police station to idifiy the body mangled and who knows what else. I think your sister will live longer as a lawer and most prositutes take drugs to easy the pain of what there doing. So between the wack 'o's out there, the drugs, and deseases (like STDs) which would you prefer you sister to die from?

I've never been a big lawyer fan either, but once the time comes when you need one you'll have a totally different opinion of them. My lawyer is my biggest ally right now in a case against me (and I am innocent of the charges) and I couldn't do without him. Congratulate your sister because they do serve a good purpose for people in need.

Obviously you have no clue what attorneys do! You are quick to bash them, but you would be the first one praising an attorney if he kept you out of jail or got you the money that you were owed. If it weren't for attorneys, then idiots like you would get locked up just for being stupid and nothing would be done about it!

You don't really know what you want, you prefer her to be a high standing prostitute, afterwards that she has brains..... and will support her decision.
What you want is, that she is what you want her to be, that is not support. that is coaxing.

Just tell her you don't like her to be an attorney, but if that is what she wants, you will help her in anything she needs.

Don't. She is your sister. You support her no matter what. She is obviously going to do what she wants to do regardless of what you think, so what good is it going to do to let her know how disapppointed you are? It will only hurt your relationship, and that's not worth it.

When you get busted for DUI, you will thank the stars above that your sister can represent you for nothing.

I would suggest you learn what lawyers really do rather than stereotype them.
