Exactly,.what I've been saying for years!
The lyrics make absolutely no sense. I've asked many other people who watch Frazier this very same question and everyone just looks at me like I'm the crazy one and shrugs. It's really quite maddening if you stop to think about it. Thank you for letting me know I am not alone!

I don't have an answer but I always thought the same thing. I never understood what that guy was singing about and how it had anything to do with Fraiser.

Check out the source that I listed for the answer:
"Hey baby I hear the blues a'callin'"
MEANING: He's got the blues and referencing that he takes phone calls
"Tossed Salads and Scrambled Eggs"
MEANING: mixed up people who call in
"And maybe I seem a bit confused
Well, maybe, but I got you pegged"
MEANING: the core of Frasier's character: He is a nutcase himself much of the time, but can analyze the problems of others

I always though that the song was supposed to be about someone who needs the help of a psychiatrist! ie: Fraiser!
But that's just what I've always thought.

I always thought it was a reference to his profession as a psychiatrist and the random babblings of a patient of his.
