I'll send you my 2 and a half year old and my 4 month old to get you in the spirit. You can drop them back by on Christmas Eve...
I'm buzzing but that might be the anti anxiety meds kicking into overdrive?

I think that our perception of Christmas is all wrong, Shouldn't we be celebrating the birth ? Don't get me wrong, I like Christmas as much as the next person does. Just because your children are adults and young adults, doesn't mean the the joy of Christmas should end. Find a new tradition that you would enjoy with your children.
And for your information 42 isn't old. You should start thinking what you will do once your children all leave home. Maybe some "YOU" time will be in order.
Good luck with the holidays
Season's Greetings !!!

You could easily make it more 'like Christmas' by finding a group that is doing something for the lonely or dispossessed.
Phone your local salvation Army or some such group.
Have a good Christmas
PS Your kids are not too young to enjoy doing just the same.
Have a Happy Christmas

I think it's because of exactly the reasons you stated. I'm 42 and my youngest is 16 and it just doesn't thrill me like it used to.
I quit exchanging gifts with my family ten years ago, which has made the holidays less stressful. Now we all get together for food and fun on Christmas eve and no one misses the gift exchange. I still enjoy buying for my girls, but I mostly enjoy the togetherness.
Merry Christmas!

You are not getting old! Christmas is basically for children, with the tree and lights and presents and stories of good ole St. Nick. I am 30, and I am not excited about Xmas as much as before. I do not have any children, either. I think that if I did it would be much more fun. I hope your kids come and visit you for the holidays!!

It does not feel like Christmas this year it seems that it came so fast that we did not have the time to get excited. It seems as we get older that Christmas seems to loose the meaning and the glow it had when we were younger. As your kids get older it does not have the same type of feeling it had when they were kids and believed in Santa Claus. Happy Holidays.
