This is for tar, bugs, and tree sap, but will also work for your purposes:
"Use a product that is designed to remove tar and insects from painted finishes to quickly, easily and safely remove tree sap. At your auto parts store ask for Bug & Tar remover. This will make quick work of tree sap also, as well as some adhesives – though it is not recommended for that. If you don't have time to go to the store and you happen to have some Goo-Gone on hand, that will also work pretty well. After using any products similar to those mentioned above, be sure to flush the area fully with water and wash with a mild soap, then rinse completely again."

you can use regular rubbing alcohol. i am a automotive refinish specialist.have been for 10+ years.when a window is broken people use plastic and duct tape around the hole all the time.its tough stuff to remove but this and elbow grease will do the trick with no harm.

wd40 takes glue goo off of many surfaces. Spray on, wipe off, done!

go to your nearest body shop..they have a chemical that they use to remove body decals...they probably won't charge you to spray it on if it's a small area...this will not hurt wax, clear coat or paint!

Use acetone, 10W40, lighter fluid, keosene or white gas. Best to wash the spot with soap & water afterwards & rinse.
