I don't think anyone thinks he is a hero. More like a tragic icon that represent a distinct time in American music.

It is what it is.. He was brilliant and talented and his music will stand up to the test of time, but I don't think he has been glorified, just that people gravitate toward tragedy, especially when its someone they liked or admired. Happens all the time. Happened with Elvis, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison. Will happen again I am sure.

Kurt was not my hero. His music was. His music took my life in a new direction No one should be your hero for anything other than being agood person. Fireman, Soldiers, some police officers should be your heros. Kurt didn't want to be a hero, he wanted to make music. Krist said it best after Kurt Killed himself(yes...killed HIMSELF) No band is special, no player royalty. If you've got a guitar and a lot of soul, just bang something out and mean it. You're the superstar. Collecting the tones and rhythms that are uniquely and universally human: music! Heck, use your guitar as a drum. Just catch the groove and let it flow out of your heart. That's the level that Kurt spoke to us on: in our hearts. And that's where he and his music will always be forever."

Definitely NOT. Although I do like Nirvana's music on a personal level I think Kurt Cobain is a selfish, self-centered loser. His wife is trash but he had a little girl to live for but he chose Heroin. He chose himself.............definitely a loser.

Kurt is one of my favorite 'antiheroes'.
He never inspired any kind of hope for mankind, only loathing.
It's the type of honesty, which fame rarely rewards.
At least he shared his feelings with us, and refrained from singing ballads to Courtney, and Diet Pepsi commercials.

He was a talented muscian. He was also a troubled drug addict who killed himself. That makes him more of an anti-hero than a hero.

A hero? NEVER...A drug addict who was so weak he was unable to cope with life, YES.

Heros are Soldiers, Firefighters, EMTs, Police! Not rich, whiny drug addicts who commit suicide.
